The truth is that, until you see the menu, nothing at “Kits Kai S’ Efaga” gives you any idea of ​​the flavors it has in store for you. However, every visit to this restaurant is a new experience, full of aromas and flavors that combine tradition with innovation, fine local products, especially with the aroma of Epirus, with a twist of originality, in terms of their use and the final rendering of the recipes.

Like the aesthetics, the restaurant’s cuisine also exudes the personalities of its owners. These are Chef Eleni Todoulou and the service manager, expert in suggesting the best tasting combinations of food and drink, antiquities conservator Maria Fallia, who, having initially oriented themselves towards kitsch decoration, then proceeded to the honest representation of Epirus tradition through modern dishes.

The flavors of the Chef – who cooked her first wine-soaked rooster with thick spaghetti in the 5th grade – are based on ingredients from her place of origin, the village of Pramanta, Ioannina, in Tzoumerka. Her dishes are not pretentious, but they smell of tradition, with flavors based on her experiences and fine, selected raw materials from Arta and Ioannina, which give visitors the feeling of true Greek cuisine. At the same time, the oil, from Maria’s family olive grove, from Paleo Keramidi, Pieria, contributes decisively to the deliciousness of each dish.

The menu, which is renewed based on the seasonality of the products, unfolds before you a series of rare and delightful dishes. The grilled asparagus with Metsovo kadotyri cheese and roasted cherry tomatoes or the handmade lasagna with lemon cream and roasted zucchini will enchant you with their simplicity and the quality of the ingredients.

In the meat section, the wonderful Epirus lamb chop – the ultimate example of what Epirus cuisine means with the finest raw materials of the region – and the handmade sourdough pita, with handmade sausage with mutton and pork, egg salad and paprika, will captivate you.

Similarly, the pink tomato salad with strawberry and soft goat cheese or the baked beans with tomato sauce, Pindos kashkaval (PDO cheese) and almonds, will give you pleasure, in every bite.

A must-have dish remains, throughout time, the double-fried potato, on top of Epirus galotyri – one of the most addictive dishes – while among the purely Epirus recipes, the “tsoumbleki” of Arta – onions with meatballs in the oven – definitely stands out.
