Nestled in the picturesque port of Neos Marmaras, Halkidiki, where the waves gently kiss the shoreline, lies Limani Sea Food Restaurant — a dining spot with over seven decades of history and culinary tradition.
Since 1952, when the family’s great-grandfather opened a small coffeehouse, bringing with him the memories and flavors of Asia Minor, to today, where Yiannis and his brother carry on the vision, Limani remains a beacon of authentic Greek cuisine.
A family story with the scent of the sea
The name “Limani” (which means “port” in Greek) is no coincidence. It naturally emerged from its location — right by the harbor, where the sea is both a source of inspiration and ingredients.
This deep connection with the sea is the secret to the restaurant’s success. The family’s father, a fisherman himself, ensures daily catches of the freshest fish and seafood from the Toroneos Gulf. A large part of the vegetables used comes from their own garden. Even the olive oil, tsipouro, and wine are homemade, guaranteeing quality and authenticity in every dish.
Flavors that smell like Greece
Limani’s kitchen philosophy is deeply rooted in Mediterranean tradition, with fish and seafood taking center stage. However, a few meat options are also available for those who prefer them.
What sets Limani apart is that nothing is store-bought. All dips, salads, and even preserved fish like anchovies and marinated sardines are handmade daily, with love and pure ingredients.
Among the standout dishes, be sure to try the sun-dried octopus, a signature of Limani. The “Limani” seafood pasta, made with black linguine, octopus, calamari, mussels, and clams, as well as the lobster pasta, with fresh lobster caught by the family’s father, are unforgettable experiences.
For those with more adventurous palates, the goat cheese log with handmade forest fruit jam, zucchini fritters, and kataifi-wrapped feta cheese are excellent choices.
Your meal at Limani is completed with a complimentary dessert treat, which may include a mix of handmade sweets, fresh seasonal fruit, or ice cream. Guests who want to choose their own dessert can opt for items like homemade cheesecake, orange pie, chocolate and white chocolate log, or halva.
Relaxed atmosphere and genuine hospitality
The setting of Limani is traditional, with a palette of white and soft colors reminiscent of the sea, and décor featuring nautical ropes and maritime elements. The atmosphere is warm and family-friendly — the ideal vibe for a classic Greek seafood taverna by the water.
Whether you choose to dine outdoors, right by the waves, or indoors, you’ll feel the serenity and charm of the seaside.
Fine wines and drinks for every taste
Limani’s wine cellar offers a wide variety of Greek wines, featuring 27 labels from esteemed vineyards such as Porto Carras Estate, Gerovassiliou, and Ktima Alpha. Guests can also enjoy draft and bottled beers, as well as house-made tsipouro and ouzo.
