On 22 Gymnasiarchou Vassiliou Mystakidou Street, in Charilaou, this beautifully set up space has already established itself as a restaurant choice for patrons not only of the area, but also of the entire city and beyond. “Mostra”, is one of the best new entries of 2024 and we suggest you try it as soon as possible!

Welcome to the world of “Mostra”: good food, good company and absolute pleasure in every bite, from the flavors of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, curated with love and passion by Chef Anastasia Beka, from October 2023, when created this first personal culinary project.

Why “Mostra”?

With pale colors and a fairly minimal aesthetic, the small and modern space of “Mostra” makes you immediately feel at home and the ancient Greek concept of “spoon”, from which the restaurant takes its name, becomes a reality at each table.

It is not only the ancient Greek “spoon”, which inspired the name of “Mostra”, but also the corner point where it is located, where as a restaurant it enchants every day, having managed to establish itself in the minds of many people, as a complete restaurant destination, for meals which include, literally, everything.

A menu with imagination and passion

The Chef “dresses up” each recipe with imagination and creativity, based on what she likes: the enjoyment of a wine or tsipouro, accompanied by a small dish. Meat suggestions alternate with fish suggestions, presented beautifully and carefully, expressing the basic philosophy of the owner of the place.

In the autumn menu, which is currently “running”, you will find several new additions to enrich your taste horizons.

Large grilled fish, but also shellfish and raw preparations, such as carpaccio or ceviche in seafood, but also cuts and large veal sirloin steak in meat, are among the new additions to the menu, which we strongly recommend.

In fish and seafood, you will also find cuttlefish stew, shrimps, mussels, fried or grilled octopus and cod with garlic potato salad, while in meat, you will find excellent lamb kebab, soutzoukaki with three types of minced meat and Shish Taouk chicken, marinated in rod.

Among the dishes of the day, the rooster with handmade noodles or the lamb on the spit stand out, while for the pasta, we recommend both menu options: pappardelle with sausage and apaki and shrimp pasta!

On a fixed basis, but with variations that follow the four seasons, the “Mostra” salad, with seasonal vegetables and fruits, is a suitable choice for every table. You will also find all the classic salads, but also an excellent small dish for tsipouro, the legume salad, with grilled sea bream and octopus!

For starters, yaprakia with egg and lemon, eggplant meatballs and fried meatballs, buffalo kavourma with eggs and tomato sauce, as well as pastourmadopita and dolmades yalantzi, together with handmade sauce and suggestions for cheeses and marinated, smoked or salted fish, are the best entrée for your meal. Be sure to try the “Athenian salad”, with fresh fish of the day and hand-made mayonnaise – one of the most emblematic dishes of Greek urban cuisine – and in winter the homemade fish soup, with mom’s recipe. Both will remind you of a homely table and bring back memories!

In the cellar, you will find an abundant selection of Greek Estate wines, ouzo, tsipouro and other spirits and beers, everything you will need to have a complete meal! Be sure to try “Mostra”, the restaurant’s signature wine, which is aged in oak barrels and bottled in a beautiful 500ml bottle, in a boutique winery. All three categories – the white from Malagouzia with Chardonnay, the rosé from Moschato Rio and the red from Syrah and Merlot – will add a unique note to your table!

The “recipe” of “Mostra”

Value for money proposals in hearty portions, an open kitchen with absolute visual access for customers and the possibility to enjoy your meal inside or outside the store, in its specially designed area, combined with impeccable service and a pleasant environment, are the basic ingredients of the “recipe” of “Mostra”. The Chef moved and developed the menu based on the preferences and comments of the people, who from the first moment embraced the space, arriving from every area of ​​the city. She will prepare for you the best dishes from her own hands!

Your meal will be accompanied by her musical selections, with the sounds of the modern Greek music scene (such as Kostis Maraveyas, Panos Mouzourakis, Yiannis Charoulis, etc.), while during the winter, in “Mostra” there will also be live performances evenings.

Tip 2: The kitchen is open every day, from 13.00 to 23.00, Saturday from 12.00 to 23.00 and Sunday from 12.00 to 19.00. On Tuesdays, the restaurant is closed.
