In the beautiful seaside area of Paradisos, just five minutes from Neos Marmaras on the road to Nikiti, the “Paradisos” tavern has been a local landmark since 1989. Nestled in a characteristic Sithonian landscape, with crystal-clear waters and pine forest surroundings, it is a favorite spot among visitors to the peninsula. Here, alongside the sea and your coffee or drink, you can also enjoy a truly special lunch or dinner in a location steeped in history.

The “Paradisos” tavern is housed in a stunning space that originally functioned as an olive mill from 1890. Owned by the Tsiamis family, the building sits right by the sea. From the 1960s until it became a tavern, it also served as a campground.

The architecture of the building has been preserved and reflects local aesthetics. A charming playground makes it ideal for families, while guests can enjoy their meals under the pergola and reed roof, just steps from the shoreline.

Three Generations of Flavor

A family-run business, the “Paradisos” tavern is now operated by the third generation. It was originally opened by grandfather Mr. Vasilis—who was also the cook during the 1980s—and his son-in-law Giorgos. Today, the grandson Vasilis continues the family tradition with pride.

With roots in the mountainous region of Halkidiki, the family has a deep appreciation for local products, which are showcased in the dishes prepared daily by Mrs. Fotini in the kitchen of
“Paradisos.”

Authentic Greek Cuisine with Local Recipes

The cuisine is authentically Greek, fresh, and perfect for both seafood and meat lovers, as well as those who enjoy traditional cooked meals.

Among the seafood specialties, you’ll find perfectly grilled shrimp served with a unique parsley pesto dip—a “secret” family recipe passed down through generations. Also popular are the shrimp saganaki and the shrimp pasta, both prepared with their own fresh, handmade tomato sauce. The orzo with mussels and white sauce, topped with grated goat cheese from Sykia in Sithonia, is another highlight.

Naturally, the tavern offers a variety of daily fresh fish—from grilled sardines to their famous fried anchovies, as well as larger fish such as cod, John Dory, and red mullet. Whatever the sea yields is available to you every day.

Just like the seafood, the meats are also locally sourced. Dishes like burgers, soutzoukakia (spiced meatballs), pastitsio, and moussaka are made with fresh ground meat. The lemony pan-fried pork with sausage and all other meat dishes come from the locally renowned “Leivadiotis” butcher shop.

Accompany your meal with one of “Paradisos”’s special appetizers: peperonata – a Halkidiki recipe with sweet peppers cooked in fresh tomato and goat cheese from Sykia – and crispy fried zucchini, which are among your top choices.

Complement Your Meal with a Special Appetizer

Be sure to try one of “Paradisos’” standout appetizers: “piperοnato”—a traditional Halkidiki dish made with sweet peppers cooked in fresh tomato and topped with goat cheese from Sykia—and the crispy fried zucchini, both among the top choices on the menu.

Always Fresh, Always Local Products

The fresh PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) olive oil “Galanó Metaggitsiou” in the salads, and the green cracked Halkidiki olives, bring local flavor and authenticity to your table. Similar high-quality products from the region are available for purchase at the local products shop—a stone building just behind the tavern, owned by the same family.

Dining in a “Paradise” Setting

During your stay in the area, you can also enjoy a swim in the cool, crystal-clear, shallow waters of the beach. At its end, you’ll find scattered secluded coves, sandy beaches alternating with pebbled waters, and lush greenery. It’s perfect for relaxation, sunbathing, swimming, and playing in the sea.

With its unique dishes, historic location, breathtaking views, unforgettable sunsets, and the peaceful atmosphere of the area—set under the shadow of Mount Itamos—the “Paradisos” tavern is undoubtedly worth a visit for anyone traveling through Neos Marmaras.
