When “Anama” opened its doors, in March 2023, on 10 Kolokotroni Street, in Evosmos, it started based on an idea derived from a long-term engagement with catering, which “gave birth” to the desire to create a space, unique and at the same time simple. Just like the fire, which was also the reason for this trip and from whose “flame” came its name. After all, for its owners, fire is what gives flavor and form to everything they create. People warmly welcomed it and so, beyond the original goal of quality and memories of traditional, delicious and well-made meals that evoke memories of food in a village, with many modern touches, an additional goal was achieved: “Anama” became the occasion to rediscover the value of “neighborhood” and regular gatherings, in a beautiful space that is already loved by many.

There is nothing more beautiful in terms of food than the sense of taste, memory, company and shared moments around a table. “Anama”, sought from the beginning to offer them, through the kitchen and its space, where the fire burns constantly and the feeling of intimate hospitality prevails, making you feel at home.

“Anama” recalls traditional, delicious and well-made meals, evokes village memories and, at the same time, introduces modern notes and touches to everything it has to offer. As its main feature, the fireplace and the fires in the kitchen, make, as they say, “the raw materials, food and the sensation, taste” and there are not a few, those who have characterized it as a “real jewel” of Thessaloniki .

The space itself and its atmosphere, is in the measure of a country house, with wood and stone prevailing as materials, in the space, the decoration, the kitchen utensils and the lamps, the tap, the built-in comfortable benches with cushions and the bar with the Cycladic decorative “openings” on the walls. The intimate, comfortable atmosphere is completed by the Greek music that accompanies every meal, either indoors or in the beautifully landscaped courtyard.

At “Anama”, the menu, edited by Chef Alexandros Tsagalidis, changes every six months, while on a daily basis, the menu of the day changes. The meals, all made from raw materials that come from Greek producers and local businesses – from every region of the country – from the tomato freshly picked from the garden, which is often used in the dishes raw – the sauce is made by themselves – the Santorini tomatoes, the Cretan oil and feta cheese, fresh fish, other local cheeses and olive products or dairy products.

Everything, from the simple cheese croquettes with spicy mayonnaise, to the smoked steak, from the handmade marinated anchovy – perfect for tsipouro or ouzo – to the salad with carob dako, raw tomato juice, basil oil, feta cheese, capers and cherry tomatoes, they are flavors that will remain unforgettable.

Potatoes on fire, with buttery cheese, meatballs with fresh, raw tomato, served on Sitia xigalo and premium cuts, are some additional flavors, worth trying, until it’s time for dessert, where the options will be again, traditional.

In addition to the options in ouzo or tsipouro, the rich cellar is complemented by a wide range of labels from Greek estates.
