“Classico Bistro”… its name could not more accurately reflect the true identity of this carefully curated space of gastronomy and wine appreciation which, since the summer of 2022—when it took its current form—has remained faithfully focused on the philosophy of wine and food pairing.
Classico Bistro was among the city’s dining venues that first opened their doors shortly before February 2020 and, due to the pandemic, officially began full operation that same summer. It was created out of the personal passion of two brothers, Christos and Stathis Papadopoulos, certified sommeliers, who wanted to create a wine-and-dining destination in Thessaloniki similar to those that fascinated them as children during family trips.
In a warm and welcoming environment that reflects their love for good food and wine, and in a space dressed in wood with grey and gold tones, you will feel as if you are in the living room of your own home, while enjoying quality wines and delicious food.

Mediterranean flavors with an emphasis on quality
The menu, which changes twice a year, follows the seasonality of ingredients and is based on Mediterranean cuisine, enriched with more modern flavors from Italy, France, and other Mediterranean countries. Headed by Chef Konstantinos Tsavdaridis, the kitchen team places primary emphasis on quality, with all products being handmade and prepared on site.
Standout dishes include the potato gnocchi with fresh truffle, parmesan cream, and mushrooms—one of Classico Bistro’s signature dishes and a favorite among guests.
From the current, newly updated menu, you should definitely try the beef carpaccio, baby eggplant “papoutsaki” with bolognese and béchamel, seafood arancini with bisque, linguine with shrimp tartare and crayfish bisque, fricassée with the fish of the day, Iberico pork cheeks with celeriac, as well as the irresistible beef on sourdough.
With the addition of one of the country’s top Pastry Chefs, Alexandros Alexiou, as a guest member of the kitchen team, you will enjoy desserts of the highest standards and premium ingredients. Tiramisu, profiteroles, and other sweet creations provide the perfect ending to every meal.
The wine cellar and food & wine pairings
In the wine department, the walk-in cellar of Classico Bistro makes a strong impression, featuring more than 500 labels from both the Greek and international vineyards, along with four wine preservation systems. In addition to fine wines and champagnes, the cellar also includes a wide selection of premium spirits to satisfy every taste.
Beyond the permanent wine list, there is also a monthly rotating selection of 35 labels available by the glass using Coravin. For the proper preservation and serving of wines by the glass, Classico Bistro features a 20-position wine dispenser that truly stands out, as it is among the few of its kind in Greece.
