Men’s grooming has long since evolved beyond simply getting a haircut. Today, it is a complete experience where technical expertise, the aesthetics of the space and personalised care come together to create a result that reflects each man’s individual style. This is precisely the philosophy behind King’s Barbershop, a brand that has established four locations across Thessaloniki in a relatively short period of time, with a presence in Panorama, Thermi and Kalamaria.
Behind the business’s growth are two members of the same family, Maria Boza and Giannis Konsoulas, mother and son, who have brought together many years of experience in hairdressing with a contemporary approach to business and the modern barbering industry.
From hairdressing to modern barbering
The story begins with Maria Boza, who has more than 20 years of experience in the beauty industry. She began her professional career in Kolonaki, Athens, where she built her foundations in hairdressing while consistently investing in her professional development through seminars with established experts from Greece and abroad.
Her career eventually brought her to Thessaloniki, where she opened her own hair salon at 2 Agiou Georgiou Street in Panorama. The salon operated for around eight years and became the foundation upon which the family’s new business identity would later develop.
Today, this location has entered a new chapter as King’s Hair & Nails Salon, becoming the women’s division of the business. Here, hairdressing meets nail care, offering hair styling, colouring and highlights, alongside manicures, pedicures, semi-permanent treatments and nail art.
The birth of King’s Barbershop
In 2023, Giannis Konsoulas took his first entrepreneurial step into the barbering industry, opening the first King’s Barbershop in Panorama, at 12 Venizelou Street.
He created a contemporary space dedicated exclusively to men’s grooming, where haircuts, beard care and shaving are treated as part of a complete experience. Here, modern barbering meets aesthetics without losing the character and craftsmanship of traditional barbering.
The response provided the foundation for the next stage of growth. The Thermi location followed, at 4 Karaoli and Dimitriou Street, and the brand then expanded into Kalamaria. Today, King’s Barbershop has three dedicated barbershops, while the business has a total of four locations in Thessaloniki, including King’s Hair & Nails in Panorama.
Four locations, one shared philosophy
At King’s Barbershop, growth is built around creating a strong and recognisable identity. Whether customers visit Panorama, Thermi or Kalamaria, the aim is to offer the same approach to technique, service and overall experience.
The men’s locations follow consistent standards in their work, ensuring that the final result maintains the same defining characteristics across every branch. It is an approach that allows the brand to grow without losing the identity that makes it distinctive.
Expertise is a key part of this philosophy. The barbers are trained in modern techniques and in meeting the individual requirements of different haircuts, while the quality of the products used is also an important part of the overall experience.
Haircuts, beard care and traditional shaving
At the heart of the service offering are, naturally, men’s haircuts, tailored to each individual’s personal style, features and preferences. Beard grooming is another integral part of the experience, with styling and care designed to complete the overall look.
Hot towel shaving also holds a special place, bringing elements of classic barbering tradition into a contemporary setting. For those looking for more than a single service, there is also the option of a complete grooming experience, combining different stages of grooming into one comprehensive treatment.
The next chapter: franchise expansion
The growth of King’s Barbershop does not stop with its four existing locations. The next objective is to further expand the brand through franchise locations in cities across Greece. Franchising forms an important part of the company’s growth strategy, with the business having developed a model that includes training, operational support, marketing and guidance in managing each location.
At the same time, establishing common operating standards is designed to ensure that the same philosophy and level of quality are maintained at every new location. King’s aims to bring to more cities an experience that has already established its place in Thessaloniki, gradually creating a wider network of contemporary men’s grooming spaces.
A family story with an eye on the future
The partnership between Maria Boza and Giannis Konsoulas combines two different yet complementary perspectives. On the one hand, there is many years of expertise in hairdressing and a constant connection with developments in the beauty industry. On the other, there is the entrepreneurial vision of a younger generation that sees barbering as a contemporary brand with significant potential for growth.
King’s Barbershop is gradually building a complete identity around men’s grooming, investing in expertise, consistency and contemporary aesthetics. With three dedicated barbering locations in Panorama, Thermi and Kalamaria, alongside King’s Hair & Nails in Panorama, the brand continues to evolve, with its next step being further growth through franchising and the development of a wider presence across Greece.
Throughout this journey, its guiding principles remain steady progress, a strong family identity and a clear commitment to quality — ultimately transforming men’s grooming into a distinctive and personalised experience.
