An aroma from the depths of the East and a family recipe that has remained the same and unchanged since 1912, is the success tip that has accompanied the Papadopoulou Family’s loukoumia all these years.

Their loukoumia are different from all the others. Sugar, water, glucose, starches and carefully selected aromatics are shaped and baked in hot cauldrons, from where rich aromas are released, with fruits or nuts added, depending on the product. The loukoumia in a square shape are sprinkled with plenty of sugar or coconut, so that the final product reaches us. The different boiling that takes place makes Papadopoulou’s loukoumi acquire its special, juicy texture.

In their stores you will also find vanilla, spoon sweets in recipes with fresh fruits such as sour cherry, cherry, orange, fig, chestnut but also crunchy sesame seed candies and tahini, cookies, kourabiedes, syrup-soaked sweets, buns, nougat, cereal bars and seasonal sweets. In collaboration with a producer from Komotini, in the company’s stores, we can now also find freshly ground Greek coffee.

Soon, new flavors are expected in loukoumia: bubblegum and bueno, with the total selection approaching 30 different flavors, from only four – rose, mastic, bergamot and coconut – that existed until 2010.

The products of the Papadopoulou family can be found today, beyond its privately owned stores and almost everywhere else we find ourselves: in cafes and other stores, all over Greece.
