In the heart of Thessaloniki, on 6 Zefxidos Street, there is a place that has become a favorite habit for those who love brunch. Mandarini SKG stands out not only for its flavors, but mainly for its philosophy and atmosphere. Friendly, creative, and unpretentious, it radiates that “something” that makes its visitors return again and again.
A hangout with soul
Mandarini was born from the desire of two young people to express their love for flavor, hospitality, and Thessaloniki. Nikos Diakomichalis, a PhD candidate, and Savvas Tasoglou, an agriculture graduate of AUTH, with a shared background in the food-service industry, joined forces to create a space that reflects their personality—warm, approachable, and full of passion.
Their philosophy is simple and genuine: to offer authentic flavors in generous portions, using fresh ingredients and maintaining a relaxed, cozy vibe.
A space that makes you feel at home
From the first glance, Mandarini SKG wins you over with its aesthetic. The interior strikes a balance between modern and nostalgic: one wall is covered in posters from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, capturing a pop-retro character that transports you, while another wall functions as a chalkboard full of sketches, notes, and messages from regulars. The result? A living canvas of small stories and moments that constantly evolves.
The lighting is warm and mellow, the tables small and friendly, and Zefxidos pedestrian street fills daily with smiles and moments… The atmosphere resembles a cozy European corner, where time passes a bit slower and conversations last a bit longer.
Brunch as it should be
If there’s one thing that makes Mandarini SKG stand out, it’s its brunch—an experience in itself. Portions are big and satisfying, the combinations smart, and the flavors homely with a modern twist.
The menu features dishes that have gained a loyal following. The “Croque Madame” with bagel-kouloura, smoked pork, gouda, cheddar, fried egg, and homemade béchamel is one of the signature choices.
The “Eggs Benedict” on an English muffin with turkey, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce are praised for their perfect balance, while the “Nest” with scrambled eggs, caramelized onions, and crispy bacon is the ultimate comfort dish.
Beyond these staples, the Mandarini menu includes omelets with various ingredients, savory pancakes—combining fluffy batter with toppings like cheese, bacon, or vegetables—and sweet options that satisfy every brunch lover.
The specialized open toasts, with choices like rye bread, avocado, smoked salmon or fruit, make a true difference, while the salads offer a lighter option.
The signature grand burgers, with fresh buns and delicious ingredients, are perfect for those craving a more filling meal—during brunch or later in the day.
Lemonades, refreshing juices, and aromatic coffees—with notes of chocolate and nuts—complete the meal ideally.
For every hour of the day
Mandarini SKG doesn’t stop at brunch. From morning until late at night, it transforms according to the mood of its guests. Coffee gives way to refreshing cocktails, the breakfast table becomes a meeting point for a drink after work, and the sunlit tables fill with glasses of beer from Greek microbreweries. This variety reflects the owners’ passion for supporting local production and offering something different every day.
It’s the ideal spot for a midday break, an after-work meet-up, or a relaxed evening drink with friends. The rhythm of the city never stops—and Mandarini follows it effortlessly.
A brunch spot with identity
Mandarini SKG has managed to stand out not only for its flavors but for its personality. It is a place with identity; it doesn’t try to imitate anything, but expresses its own rhythm. The result is an authentic hangout, full of fresh energy and people who make you feel comfortable from the very first moment.
Mandarini SKG is a small oasis in the heart of Thessaloniki—a space that combines taste, aesthetic, and authenticity. It’s an experience that fills you, relaxes you, and inspires you.
