At No. 3 Vogatsikou Street, Okuki Sushi is a family affair built on years of experience and a genuine passion for authentic Japanese cuisine. Although the Thessaloniki restaurant opened its doors in October 2025, the story behind it goes back more than a decade.
Here, every aspect of the sushi experience matters – from the preparation in the kitchen to the setting in which it is served and the truly authentic atmosphere created within the restaurant. Whether you are already a devoted sushi lover or simply curious to discover this unique world of flavours, Okuki offers the perfect setting for an unforgettable introduction.
The creator of Okuki, Alexandra, originally from Poland, moved permanently to Greece two years ago, having already developed a strong connection with the country through her frequent visits. With her, she brought a valuable family legacy: the knowledge and expertise she gained through the family-run Okuki restaurant in Poland, which is now carried on by her children with the same passion and unwavering commitment to quality.
At Okuki, Japanese cuisine is treated as an art form. The sushi masters here have honed their skills under the guidance of numerous sushi masters from around the world, developing a distinctive style of their own – one that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning palate.
Every creation begins with the careful selection of outstanding ingredients, continues with techniques that respect the authenticity of Japanese gastronomy and is completed with meticulous attention to even the smallest detail. As the team at Okuki firmly believes, an exceptional dish begins with exceptional ingredients.
A truly comprehensive japanese menu
The result of the Okuki team’s philosophy and dedication is one of the city’s most comprehensive Japanese menus.
Sushi enthusiasts can choose from an impressive selection of nigiri, sashimi, hosomaki, futomaki, California rolls, signature creations and beautifully presented sushi sets.
But the culinary journey does not end there. Salmon and tuna tartare, crispy tempura prawns and squid, handmade gyoza, edamame, salads featuring goma wakame, aromatic soups and noodles come together to showcase the richness and variety of Japanese cuisine.
Particularly intriguing are the gyoza piroshki, available with vegetable, chicken or prawn fillings – a creative touch that brings together different culinary traditions.
At the same time, Okuki aims to be a place where everyone feels at home. The menu includes options for children, vegan choices and more familiar dishes for those taking their first steps into the world of sushi. After all, the philosophy behind Okuki is not simply to cater to seasoned sushi enthusiasts, but to make every guest feel welcome.
An experience beyond the restaurant
The carefully considered interior, warm and friendly service, thoughtfully selected wines and teas prepared on site all come together to create an experience that goes well beyond the meal itself.
At Okuki, Japanese cuisine is not simply a dining trend or another gastronomic offering. It is a family idea and a shared vision, built around a genuine Japanese dining experience and uncompromising standards.
Its extensive menu, exceptional flavours, distinctive techniques and memorable hospitality bring an authentic Japanese experience to Thessaloniki – one that is well worth discovering and, without doubt, one you will want to return to time and time again.
