“Ramen Tales” is Thessaloniki’s new hotspot for Asian flavors with one of the most popular dishes of Japanese cuisine, ramen soup, as the central protagonist. Yannis Trasanidis, chef and owner of “Ramen Tales” loves this dish, he has traveled to get to know it better and offers it to you in exciting tasting versions.

“Ramen Tales” is hosted in a beautiful space, warm and modern, with a “japandi” aesthetic and “izakaya” approach, which is the Japanese pub, where one can enjoy his drink accompanied by modern dishes. There is always the right cocktail that will take your taste buds to the next level.

Handmade creations

Before we say exactly what ramen soup is and what other dishes you will find at “Ramen Tales”, we must make it clear that everything you taste in this small restaurant, which serves at a bar overlooking the open kitchen, is handmade. The preparations for each dish take many hours, the choices of raw materials are excellent and the creativity is at the highest levels.

The chef of “Ramen Tales” studied in detail the philosophy of the dishes he offers and together with his team they create taste miracles.

Umami flavors

So what is ramen soup? It is a dish with deep flavor, consisting basically of broth, noodles, tare, aromatic oil and various toppings.

The broth, to be prepared properly, can take from several hours to days.

All this results in intense, but delicate flavors, characteristic of Japanese cuisine.

The definition of umami is hidden in this small culinary paradise, which will easily become your hangout especially for a Saturday night before you go out or a weekday after work.

Izakaya menu

But apart from their… magical broth, at “Ramen Tales” they also serve other, equally delicious dishes that perfectly accompany your drink.

Interesting rice dishes served steamed. Wonderfully seasoned yakitori (the Japanese souvlaki) round out the menu, with two versions being bestsellers. One with celery root and another with beef tongue.

Gyoza, with beef cheeks, is another option, while mazesoba ramen, the summer version of ramen without broth, is excellent.

All of the above is accompanied, if you wish, by classic but also Japanese drinks, such as whiskey, vodka, gin and of course sake, or by one of the excellent cocktails that “Ramen Tales” suggests.

Giannis’ experience in restaurants abroad, his love for what he does, his obsession with detail, the choice of his partners and the team spirit he inspires result in unforgettable flavors.

You just have to find out for yourself!

Ramen Tales is open from Wednesday to Saturday 17:00 – 23:00 and Sunday 13:30 – 18:30.

Tip: The place also has tables outside, for those days when the weather permits.
