At number 34 on Ionos Dragoumi Street, next to the Venizelou Metro station, the restaurant “The Voukia – flavors meant to be shared” is celebrating three years of operation these days. It is a gastro bar featuring traditional Greek recipes based exclusively on Greek products, where you will also find a carefully curated, entirely Greek wine list. It is a place where every flavor acts as a “bridge” that brings people closer together around a table, welcoming you daily to offer meals you will remember for a long time.

Chef Ioannis Tsepelakis – the “maestro of flavor,” as one might say – and Sommelier Androniki Tsepelaki – a wine expert with deep knowledge of the finest Greek estates and labels – are the owners of the restaurant “The Voukia.” Two siblings with experience in the field, working together with a shared vision for excellence, consistently setting high standards in what they offer.

Creative cuisine of simplicity and “truth”
The beautiful, atmospheric space of the restaurant, with its earthy, warm colors, will impress and win you over from the very first moment. It is arranged on two levels, with a distinctive and pleasant design, while the upper floor is also ideal for more private gastronomic gatherings.

At “Voukia,” the highly experienced chef, a lover of creative cuisine, simplicity, and “truth” in his dishes, prepares flavorful creations that are both delicious and meaningful. The philosophy here is that of a restaurant-bar rooted in Greek cuisine and local ingredients, combined with mastery to deliver the menu’s unique flavors to your plate.

The flavors are based on traditional Greek recipes, presented with a slightly different approach. Even the smoked pork belly served with onions and sauce is smoked in-house.

From the very beginning, the menu has been built around offering something for every taste. Familiar recipes are presented with greater care and exceptional raw ingredients. Among the signature dishes, you will find beef cheeks with hilopites (Greek pasta) and a sauce made from the animal’s own marrow, as well as fresh smoked mackerel – smoked in-house using cedar and olive wood – served with herb gremolata and lemon cream.

What we wholeheartedly recommend is the fresh catch of the day – literally whatever the sea provides – served with celeriac cream, wild greens cooked in olive oil, kumquat, and hummus crumble with parsley oil. A dish that will elevate your gastronomic experience!

Another standout is the dakos salad with tomato jam, olive “soil,” and carob rusks, served with a butter “biscuit” resembling a small cake that leaves an unforgettable aftertaste.

Customer favorites include ossobuco and traditional meatballs, while even vegan dishes, such as mushrooms, are based on Greek cuisine recipes.

For refined meat options, you will find fresh cuts of beef (rib eye, tomahawk, etc.), while the seafood menu includes exclusively fresh fish of the day (red mullet, turbot, etc.).

Themed culinary events and live music nights
From time to time, depending on the season or specific celebrations – such as this year during Lent, when instead of a simple fasting menu there is a tribute to Mount Athos cuisine – culinary events open to everyone are organized.

Every Saturday, live music nights await you, which have become the trademark of “The Voukia,” shaping the atmosphere and contributing to guests’ enjoyment and a complete dining experience.

At “Voukia,” Greek flavors meet hospitality in the heart of Thessaloniki, shared among small and large groups alike, evoking Greece and creating the perfect destination for any occasion.

And time flows calmly and gently, giving everything the space it needs, so that everyone can enjoy this experience of food and indulgence at their own pace.
