Thirty years of gastronomic history, counts the restaurant “Trata” in Perea, which opened in 1994 and all these years is one of the favorite destinations for good and informed fish eaters, but also for those looking for a destination near Thessaloniki, to enjoy some of the freshest, well-cooked fish and seafood, that they will find in the wider area of Thermaikos. Locals, visitors from the surrounding settlements, city residents and many tourists, find here an ideal place to enjoy their meal, the sea and the good fish cuisine.
At “Trata”, the menu is enriched every now and then, depending on the season, the raw materials provided by the sea and the vegetables of the surrounding areas and of course, the inspiration of the restaurant staff, who take care every day to ensure that the most delicious food they make in their kitchen reaches your table.
The restaurant space is warm, as it should be in any similar space, where the flavors of the cuisine blend harmoniously with the spirits of the cellar. “Trata” is located right on the wave, with an unobstructed view of the Thermaic Gulf – every season of the year – in front of the same waters, from which many of the fish and seafood on the menu come. The latter are supplied by fishermen from the wider area (Michaniona fish market, etc.), as a result of which they reach your table as fresh as possible.
Flavors that smell of the sea…
Among the restaurant’s standout dishes, you will find squid stuffed with three cheeses, cod with garlic and excellent tope shark saganaki (freshly caught), along with fresh fish of the day, with large fish such as gilt-head bream, sea bass, red porgy etc. or shi drum, but also smaller ones, such as red mullets or grilled sardines, while the delicious royal scallops and, as the weather opens, smooth clams, cockles and other shellfish, have a leading role on the menu.
You will literally enjoy what the sea and the boat bring out daily. In seafood you will also find excellent risotto with octopus, mackerel and mascarpone, risotto with sea bass fillet, lobster, shrimp spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce and garlic butter, grilled or pan-fried shrimp, mussel pilaf and freshly fried mussels or saganaki.
…tradition…
The seafood flavors of the menu are complemented by more traditional suggestions for main courses, appetizers and salads, such as zucchini flowers stuffed with feta and herbs, Sfakiani pie with mizithra, grilled eggplant, bouyourdi, tzatziki, kasseri-croquettes, classic village salad and other seasonal salads and more. Tastes of classic Greek cuisine, always based on the philosophy of the traditional restaurant, which wants quality and local products first.
…and exquisite meats
Meat lovers will also find selected meats, such as beef kontosouvli and beef shoulder steak, pork tomahawk, grandma’s meatballs and soutzoukakia, as well as “special” gyros in the pan, souvlaki, pancetta and whatever you like, with local meats that, if you are a meat eater, you will particularly enjoy!
The beautiful interior of the “Trata” restaurant, with its marine decoration, is regularly upgraded and becomes even more welcoming, while every Thursday and Friday, after 8:00 PM, you can enjoy live light folk music, which will “tie” perfectly with your meal.
Especially in the summer, you will enjoy it at the tables on the sand, in a completely romantic, summer atmosphere!
