Located in the heart of Polychrono, just a short stroll from the village square and the seafront, Elite Rooftop has long been regarded as one of Halkidiki’s most beloved dining destinations. Renowned for its exceptional hospitality and attention to detail, it has earned a loyal following among both locals and visitors alike.

Whether it is the signature wood-fired pizzas, baked in a traditional oven fuelled exclusively by olive wood, or the family’s long-standing expertise in pastry making—originating from their well-known confectionery in Thessaloniki’s Harilaou district—the team at Elite Rooftop understands the true meaning of quality service and genuine Greek hospitality.

The family business dates back to 1978, when Tasos Leonidakis, later joined by his brother Dimitris and sister Chrysoula, established what would gradually become a local institution, both in Polychrono and in Thessaloniki.

Over the years, the business developed along two distinct paths: a pastry shop and a pizzeria. The confectionery became famous for its legendary chocolate baklava and exquisite mille-feuille pastries, fondly remembered by generations of Thessaloniki residents. Meanwhile, the pizzeria quickly gained popularity in Polychrono thanks to its distinctive flavours and the unmistakable aroma imparted by the olive-wood-fired oven.

The family was also behind Thessaloniki’s iconic Cardhu Cafés, remembered by many as some of the city’s most fashionable meeting places for decades. Known not only for their drinks but also for their carefully prepared meze dishes, these venues helped shape a hospitality philosophy built on excellent food, attentive service and meticulous attention to detail.

Today, that same philosophy remains at the heart of Elite Rooftop: carefully selected Mediterranean flavours, premium ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere that only improves with time.

Pizza for every taste

At the centre of the menu is, naturally, pizza. According to the team, great pizza is about far more than dough and toppings—it is also about the unique character created by the olive wood used in the oven.

Guests can choose from a wide range of pizzas featuring seafood, premium meats and vegetarian combinations, while the generously filled calzones and extensive pasta selection—offering around twenty different dishes—are equally popular choices.

Breakfast, Cocktails and a Roof Garden with a view

Elite opens early each morning, serving everything from coffee and freshly baked pastries to breakfast and brunch, making it an ideal choice for visitors seeking something beyond the typical holiday breakfast.

As evening approaches, attention shifts to the venue’s spectacular roof garden. This spacious rooftop terrace offers panoramic views of both the sea and the village, transforming into a particularly enchanting setting as the sun begins to set.

Live music events are regularly hosted throughout the season, while the bar’s signature cocktails and classic favourites provide the perfect accompaniment to a relaxed summer evening under the stars.

Among the menu highlights are the venue’s own homemade ice creams, crafted using natural ingredients, alongside ice-cold beers and a carefully curated selection of Mediterranean dishes. The culinary offering continues to evolve, with new menu additions—including premium meat dishes—planned for the near future.

Enjoy your meal on the top-floor terrace as the sun sets over Polychrono, surrounded by breathtaking views and the warmth of authentic Greek hospitality. Elite Rooftop offers a genuinely romantic atmosphere that invites guests to return time and time again whenever they visit Polychrono and the wider Halkidiki region.
