“Sushi Box”, which opened at 19 Vasilikis Tavaki Street in 2023, was born from something very personal: the owners’ love of sushi. At first, its boxes were available exclusively for takeaway. It soon became clear, however, that customers wanted to stay a little longer, explore the menu, choose their dishes together and enjoy their sushi fresh, right there and then. Tables were added, and “Sushi Box” quickly evolved into an impressive, beautifully designed space and a sleek, premium sushi bar restaurant in Thermi. With quality at the heart of everything it does, it continues to attract an ever-growing following of sushi lovers.
Exceptional-quality sushi is the philosophy that runs through every aspect of “Sushi Box”, from the moment the doors open until the last satisfied customer is served.
The inspiration is always authentic Japanese cuisine, which is celebrated here in the best possible way. The restaurant’s open kitchen offers a clear view of the action, allowing guests to watch their sushi being prepared right in front of them. It is all part of the experience, bringing the craft of sushi-making to life before your eyes.
With sushi taking centre stage
Here, choosing the right roll is very much part of the enjoyment. The menu begins with the clean, understated flavours of maki, nigiri, gunkan and sashimi, before moving on to casual, spicy, baked and crunchy rolls, as well as Sushi Box’s signature creations. And for those who want to explore several combinations around the same table, there is a tempting selection of sushi sets.
One of the menu’s standout creations is the sushi burger, which has helped make “Sushi Box” particularly well known as the first sushi venue in Greece to introduce this concept. It is a playful take on sushi that keeps the Japanese favourite at its heart while presenting it in an unexpected new form. Available with either prawns or salmon, it combines sushi rice with avocado, Philadelphia cream cheese, masago and spicy mayo.
The Japanese-inspired menu goes well beyond rolls. Starters, salads, bao buns and soups set the scene, while noodles, poke bowls and rice dishes offer plenty of options for a complete meal. There are also desserts, soft drinks, beers and a carefully selected range of wines. However much you explore the menu, the heart of “Sushi Box” remains firmly rooted in sushi.
Signature cocktails at “Sushi Box”
The “Sushi Box” experience becomes even more colourful and exciting with its own signature cocktails. Sushi Box Oasis, Scarlet Kiss and Mango Sunset are the three house creations worth trying when you visit, whether before or after your meal.
Their names alone are enough to put you in the mood for another dish to share, picking up your chopsticks again and letting the evening unfold with even more flavours to discover. They are served throughout the year, so there is no particular season to wait for!
At “Sushi Box”, you can now enjoy your meal in the restaurant, order it as takeaway or have it delivered straight to your door. In other words, the love that inspired the idea back in 2023 can reach you in whichever way suits you best.
