The path of the Vardas company in the field of clothing begins in 1939. At a time when people bought clothes to order, the Vardas company established prêt-a-porter, opening the first store, in the center of Athens, at 44 Stadiou street. This was a great moment for menswear as it charted the rise of the suit as a way of dressing and a modern and clean design aesthetic.

In 1961 the company decided to create its own women’s and men’s clothing factory, producing 450 pieces a day. A decade later, the management passes to the second generation of the Varda family and begins to export clothes throughout Europe.

Its stable course has now established it in the market, as one of the strong names in the field of fashion in Greece, as it offers its customers haute couture clothes, sewn in luxury fabrics, while at the same time the company develops its network of physical stores.

Now having a strong name, it signs agreements for the representation of international brands such as Daniel Hechter, Trussardi, Balmain, Calvin Klein, Ted Lapidus, Louis Feraud, Mc Gregor, Lanvin, Brioni and Harmont and Blaine, while in 2001 with the new expansion of the network it has 54 stores with clothing collections VARDAS, BCBGMAXAZRIA, CANALI, CALVIN KLEIN, TIE RACK and MANSETA.

The new era

Since 2014, the company has been managed by the second and third generations of the Varda family, completing 83 years of uninterrupted operation, remaining faithful to elegance and the right relationship between quality and price. A year later, the Vardas company also opened its online store www.vardas.gr, effectively investing in the future of sales.

To this day, the company’s vision and strategy remains the offering of its timeless quality and high design clothes and maintaining relationships of appreciation and trust with its customers, which are its constant inspiration.

In Vardas stores you will feel comfortable and you will definitely find collections that express you, lift your mood and are always in line with the trends of every season, making shopping a pleasant experience in a modern and welcoming environment.

Corporate social responsibility

Along with its love for fashion, the goal of the Vardas company is to participate in corporate social responsibility actions, either directly or through other institutions. More specifically, they have mainly focused on our most important treasure, children, supporting non-profit organizations in Greece such as Hopegenesis and DESMOS, in order to be able to contribute to the creation of a better future.

Dress Well, Feel Good, Live Passionately – this is the secret that, as the people of the Vardas company tell us, their wonderful journey has taught them from 1939 until today.
